Summer Challenge: Bastille Day

Hello!

Today's Summer Challenge is Bastille Day.  I am embarrassed to say that I had no idea what this day celebrated, besides it being sort of like our Independence Day.  According to Wikipedia, Bastille Day commemorates the storming of the Bastille Fortress, a symbol of the first uprising of a modern nation.  See?  Summer Challenge is fun AND educational! lol

I decided to go with French tips and fireworks in French colors.  I used some Sally Hansen French tip manicure stickers as a guide, since I have trouble free-handing it.

Okay, I am going to admit that I stared at my thumb for way too long last night.  I am sooo happy with the fireworks on this thumb!  I used some silver, blue, and red, to make the firework streaks.  Then I added just a couple blue and red dots and topped it with some red and silver glitter.

Charlie says hello!

From left to right, I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City, OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It, China Glaze White on White, Essie Russian Roulette, and Essie Mesmerised.  I bought some Burt's Bee's Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream for $4.99 at the grocery store yesterday.  I like it because it goes on light, moisturizes, and gives your nails a lemony smell (a good one...not like bathroom cleaning lemony smell :)

Thanks for reading!
Emily
